Grimgotts is a symphonic power/folk metal band from London, England.
The band released its first EP, ‘Here Be Dragonlords’, in early 2016. Two further EPs swiftly followed (‘Extenditus Playus’ and ‘Part Man, Part Beast, Part Dragon’), and then the band’s debut album, ‘Lions of the Sea’, in 2017, which was released on StormSpell Records.
By 2018 Grimgotts had cemented a full line-up and was playing shows across the UK. The band has played various UK metal festivals (‘Power Metal Quest Fest’, ‘Ragnarox Metal Fest’, ‘Warhorns Late Summerfest’), supported international bands Victorius and Lagerstein, and has headlined shows in London. A sophomore album, ‘Dragons of the Ages’, was released in 2019 (also via StormSpell Records). The band were busy in 2020, releasing three EPs: ‘Tales’, ‘Sagas’ and ‘Legends’, which were released as a compilation alongside new tracks in 2021.
Grimgotts released a three-track single ‘Ignite the Flame’ in April 2022, followed by two standalone singles, ‘Ride the Storm’ and ‘Until Dawn’ in 2023. Grimgotts have now fully written a new concept album, ‘The Time of the Wolfrider’, which is currently being mixed and mastered. This album chronicles an epic hero’s journey battling witches and werewolves in the mythical land of Andria, and while staying true to their power metal roots is the heaviest record from the band to date.
